This course will equip those wishing to work with very young children between the ages of 2 months and 18 months with the knowledge and competencies for their effective care and management.

Reflect on and apply their knowledge of child development theories and care principles in a variety of situations and circumstances
Examine current child development knowledge and understand their interrelated developmental sequence of physical, emotional, cognitive and social growth of infants and toddlers
Practice the skills of observations to help ascertain a child's educare needs and requirements
Develop an understanding of the principles of developmentally appropriate learning experiences and environments for infants and toddlers in their care and be able to apply this knowledge
Work with families in a meaningful way in the care and education of their infants and toddlers
