Learning Capital Faculty Members

Chen Fong Peng

Chen Fong Peng is a Senior Lecturer at Learning Capital School of Higher Learning. She holds a Master in Science (Early Childhood Education) and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education. She has extensive experience working in child care settings and has held posts such as Principal and Head of Department, before moving into the field of lecturing in Early Childhood Education in 2003.

She teaches different levels in the area of early childhood education, ranging from Certificate in Infant Care, Certificate in Preschool Education, Diploma in Preschool Education, both in Teaching and Leadership.


Jenny Boey

Jenny Boey holds a Master of Science (Early Childhood Education) from RTRC, Wheelock, Diploma in Early Childhood Studies from Singapore Institute of Management and Bachelor of Science from National University of Singapore.

Jenny began her career in the IT industry but switched to early childhood education for the past eleven years. She worked in childcare centres as a teacher and principal from 1994 to 2004. She then became a lecturer in 2004,

As a lecturer, she feels that not only can she impart knowledge but also indirectly influence children positively through her students who will eventually take on the roles of teachers or principals in childcare centres.


Pat Lim

Pat Lim, Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Teaching & Leadership) and Master of Science in Early Childhood Education, from Wheelock College / RTRC Singapore.

Pat has over ten years of working experience in the field of early childhood education. As a principal in many childcare and kindergarten settings, she had vast opportunities to work with staff and families. She values open and effective communication, positive work attitude, mutual trust and respect as important elements in healthy work relationships. Pat’s vision is to see young children grow into confident and competent individuals and team players in the ‘big world’. Her mission is to train and mentor teachers, to bring out the best in each teacher, so that they can support children in acquiring relevant, meaningful knowledge and skills. She believes kindergarten and childcare teachers need professional development through on - going training programmes and an effective mentoring scheme. Pat’s area of specialization is in the area of Art and Craft education.


Komala Pannirselvam

Komala Pannirselvam, a senior lecturer with Learning Capital School of Higher Education, has a Master of Science (ECE) degree from Wheelock College, Boston. She received her Bachelor of Education (ECE) with first class honours from the University of South Australia and earned the life time membership to Golden Key International Honour Society. A holder of the Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education, she was awarded the Academic Achievement Award.

With over 15 years of in the early childhood field as a pre-school / childcare teacher, administrator and principal, she has extensive experience in working with children, parents and teachers, and in management / administration of childcare centres, including a community children’s library. Komala has contributed early childhood articles to the ‘Parent – The First Teachers’ handbook and the ‘Asia-Pacific Journal for Arts Education’ (APJAE).

Komala has been lecturing at various institutes for about 2 years. She was a practicum supervisor and mentor for the Certificate in Pre-school Teaching and Diploma level courses. Komala believes that education is more than imparting knowledge, it is about empowering early childhood educators to be an enthusiastic life-long learner. Through her guidance, sharing and teaching she wants to be a partner in each early childhood educator’s learning journey.


Imeelia Ismail

Imeelia Ismail began her career in the field of Early Childhood Education in 2003, when she joined Learning Vision International as a preschool educator. She later joined Learning Horizon as an English Speech and Drama trainer for preschool children. Through the years in the organization, Imeelia has conducted training workshops and sharing sessions with other preschool educators in Learning Vision. With the knowledge and experience she has garnered over the years, she then took on the professional challenge of training prospective educators.

She has been lecturing in Learning Capital for over a year, and teaches a variety of modules for the fundamentals, certificate and diploma programmes. She specializes in the areas of Language and Literacy as well as Music & Movement. Apart from the Early Childhood training prorammes in Singapore, Imeelia also lectures for the Diploma in Preschool Education programme in Dalian, China. Besides lecturing, Imeelia has also been invited to host a radio programme on Radio Singapore International, to provide child development tips to listeners.

Imeelia has recently completed a Master of Education (Early Childhood Education) programme with the University of South Australia.



李念

工作经历:
1988年7月~1994年7月任武汉港务局幼儿园教师、教研组长、主任。

  • 园“全面质量管理小组”多次在长航获优秀成果奖。
  • 带领的园被评为区中心园。

1994年7月~1999年7月任广东俊慧学校幼儿部教师、教研组长、主任。

  • 探索了民办学校在中国发展的必要性,可行性。教育论文入选中国教育研究会“迈向新世纪幼儿园课程”研讨会。
  • 多次获地方教育部门的绘画、舞蹈、组织管理、家长学校等奖励。
  • 自己及教师的教学课件入选俊慧学校办学五周年展

1999年7月~2001年11月任广东东方明珠学校幼儿部主任

  • 成为第一间在中国受ISO9001质量认证的学校。(06年该公司在新加坡上市)
  • 被省教委批准申报省级示范园
  • 教研课题获市科技创新教育成果二等奖
  • 幼儿绘画获新马泰绘画特等奖,幼儿舞蹈获市舞蹈大赛二等奖。

熊致新

男,1965年出生,1984--1988年就读于中国华中师范大学教育科学学院,专业是学前教育,获学士学位。1993—1996年,在以上学校研究生院学习,专业为教育基本理论,获教育学硕士学位。

1988年毕业后一直在湖北省幼儿师范学校工作,先后任讲师、高级讲师。并兼任教导主任、学校附属幼儿园院长等职。在湖北省幼儿教师培训中心,从事过十余期幼儿园院长培训班的教学和管理工作。先后参与国家、省级多项课题研究,在中国《学前教育研究》杂志上发表学术论文多篇,编写过幼儿师范学校教材和幼儿园教材。

2006年2月到凯德学院工作。
