Helen Ong
Adjunct Lecturer

Ms Helen Ong is a visionary educator who is committed to making a positive and significant
difference in the way children and teachers learn. Helen’s background includes serving
as an early childhood educator, curriculum specialist, music, phonics, & speech
& drama specialist. She is currently a principal in a reputable kindergarten and
in addition, she has joined Learning Capital College since year 2008 as our adjunct
lecturer for modules such as music & movement, principles and practice in child
pedagogy, professional development, creative approaches to learning and caring,
science and math.
Helen holds a diploma in teaching and leadership for early childhood education,
Royal School of Music, Trinity College of Speech & Drama, diploma in Montessori
approach, bachelor of arts in early childhood education and master of science in
early childhood education.
Helen has developed specialized curriculums in fine arts and creative expression
for several early childhood education centers in Singapore and Indonesia. Conducting
parent workshops covering topics on 'child development', 'teaching of phonics',
'school readiness', 'dressing right for all occasion' is also one of her specialize
skills of creative teaching methods and an advocate for the development of creative
thinking in children and adults.
